Describing Friends...

I think that I am very lucky because I have met some friends for other cities thanks to the project called "Diver Tic Tac" in which our schools are involved.

Today I want to describe Marta . She is 16 years old. She lives in Madrid and she studies at Santamarca High School.

Marta is tall and slim. She has long brown hair. She has got an oval face with big, brown, green eyes, a high nose, and a small mouth. Marta is very beautiful, especially when she smiles. She is helpful, caring, and honest. When her friends have difficulties, she always tries her best to help them. We have the same tastes and interests, although we are quite different talking about character.

I am sociable and enjoy telling jokes. Unlike me, Marta is quite reserved and likes peace and quiet. We haven't been together many hours but we keep contact using the Internet and there is mutual trust and a perfect sympathy between us.

Marta is one of the best students in her class but she is always modest. She is also responsible and careful. If we were in the same city I know we would work together very well.

She is very special for me and we are very well together.

His name is David and he’s about 16 years old. David is of medium height, about one metre seventy-five and he’s of medium build. He’s got short, curly, brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion. He doesn’t wear glasses. His appearance is scruffy.

David is an amusing, friendly boy. He loves telling jokes and laughing. In fact, he never stops talking. My mother thinks he talks too much, but I like to listen to him, he is always optimistic and charming.

Welcome the this new school- year.

You are now in your 4th year and you are also a year older and I'm sure you have also grown in responsibility.

We are going to start a new project called "Diver Tic Tac English". You are probably wondering "Why Diver?", Diver has two meanings in Spanish: Diversidad (diversity) and Divertido (fun). We, the teachers involved in the project, want you to work according to your possibilities, that is diversity (diversidad), and to do it in a fun way (divertido).

FIRST TERM

- MUSIC -

We have a lot of ideas for you to work and during this first term we are going to work with MUSIC.

* The first thing you have to do is to choose a song to work with, take your time, it must be one you like as you will have to do different things with it.

* Once you choose it, write the name and the singer on your Blog and download the lyrics and the sound. you can also include a video from youtube if there is one.

* Using the lyrics to prepare some exercises for the class, go to Isabel Pérez web page to look for ideas

* The next step is to read the song like a poem and record it as you did with the poem last year.

* And finally you have to prepare a video-karaoke with the song

Urban Tribes

Urban tribes are made up by groups of people – usually young, with a distinct common identity: the same aesthetic codes, the same identity symbols, the same rules, the same language, the same music… A whole ideology!

We are going to analyse the following urban tribes.

These tribes have many different ideologies: right-wing, left-wing, non-political or against globalization. Some of them are nearly extinct, and others in full expansion. But all of them are ruled by it own ideology.

TO WRITE A POEM

All of you have to write a poem. I know it's not easy to become a "poet" but I'll give you a dossier and you'll realise how easy is to write a short one.

To download the dossier with instructions and activities tick on the title of the entry "Poets" and print it, you'll need it to do the exercises to prepare the poem.

When your poem is ready you'll have to record it. We have to download a free program called "Audacity" and read it aloud and clear.

The poems must be in your blogs at the end of March.

Decide what recipe you want to prepare ( a simple one) and prepare it following the same steps that the person at the video follows, there are 9 steps, you can do it in 5 or 6 if your recipe is easier.

Primer encuentro de alumnos de la Agrupación Tic Tac English en Madrid. Alumnos de Cardedeu, Santamarca y Río Duero realizan actividades conjuntas y establecen el primer contacto tras varios meses de intercambio de e-mails y conversaciones via internet.

17th June

Los alumnos de Cardedeu visitan el I.E.S. Río Duero. Durante la mañana los alumnos muestran sus páginas webs y presentaciones en las aulas de informática del centro, se celebra una comida conjunta en el Parque de los Tres Arboles y por la tarde se realiza una visita guiada por la ciudad de Zamora.
